Good quality digital photos are required. Joye must approve photo before taking commission. Some photos will make better artistic renderings than other photos, light, color and clarity are big issues.  Joye’s renderings are colorful, impressionistic like paintings, not photo realistic pieces. Upon agreement of photo, medium, and size, Joye will interview the subject to get a better idea of who she is painting. Feelings of the person definitely go into a piece of art. Before beginning a painting, a 50% deposit is required. Payment in full should be made before the painting is shipped. The watercolor is painted on paper unframed or matted, and the oil is on stretched gallery wrapped canvas. Depending on the size of the work, the portrait can be expected to take anywhere from 4-8 weeks.
